Any traveler > 65 years of age

Anyone with chronic lung, liver, kidney, heart or neurologic disease, cancer, diabetes, smokes, alcoholic, HIV, blood, disorder, splenectomy, cerebrospinal leaks, cochlear implants or taking any medication that suppresses the immune system.

Contraindications:

Allergy to previous dose
Current moderate-severe illness

Side-effects:

Pain and redness at injection site, mild flu like symptoms

Dose:

Amount: 0.5 ml(cc)
Route: intramuscular injection
Number of doses: One
Schedule: one dose, booster needed every 5 years for those with chronic medical problems

Timing:

At least 2 weeks before departure

Can be given with other vaccines and antibiotics
